Redner’s Save-A-Tape Program

Shady Hollow would like to thank everyone for saving Redner’s Tapes. We received a check for $351.22, our largest amount ever! The more Redner’s Save-a-Tapes, the more hay for the horses. Thanks again and please feel free to drop off tapes any time in the observation room of the indoor arena.

Summer and Fall 2012 Bridle Club Registration Dates

Summer Bridle Club – Registration begins April 1st with classes taking place weekly from May 29th to June 26th.

Fall Bridle Club – Registration begins August 1st with classes taking place weekly from September 11th to October 16th.

Equestrian Day Camp

Equestrian Day Camp at Shady Hollow is for kids between the ages of 7-16. Get your kids out of the house this summer and down on the farm!

June 18-22 9-3pm

July 16-20 9-3pm

Cost is $350.00 per week. A Registration Fee of $25 is due at time of registration plus a down payment of half the cost of camp. The down payment and registration fee is nonrefundable. Registration for Summer Equestrian Camp will begin April 1, forms can be downloaded here.

This is an opportunity for beginners and experienced riders to learn and grow together. The week will progress from Basic Safety and Behavior of Horses to Arena Riding and Trail Riding. Games, crafts and activities keep the kids busy and happy. Children should bring brown bag lunches and drinks. Refrigeration is available. The week will end with a Riding Course Performance in the afternoon on Friday. Family and guests are invited, light refreshments will be served.

Extended Care is available for an additional cost of $150.00 per week. Children registered in the extended care program will be involved with feeding the horses, stall maintenance and general farm work. Drop Off begins 8:00am, Pick Up is at 5:30pm. The kids will be guaranteed good and tired when you pick them up after work!

We are introducing this year an optional “Pool and Sleepover” Package. Campers will take a trip to Maple Springs Pool in Birdsboro after camp has completed in the afternoon for some needed cooling off after a hard day in the barn. We’ll return to the farm for an old fashion wiener and marshmallow roast under the stars and a sleep over in the barn with the horses! Both the cookout and breakfast the next morning will be provided by Shady Hollow. Campers should bring sleeping bags and pillows. This package is available for an additional cost of $75 per child.

Spring 2012 Bridle Club

Our Spring Session of Bridle Club is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24 – Tuesday, May 22 2012. Class will meet every Tuesday from 4:45-5:30pm. Cost for the 6 week course is $45, this includes the Registration Fee. Registration Forms and payment should be sent in as soon as possible. We have room for 5 children at a time.

Assisted Riding Training Course

Shady Hollow Assisted Riding is a nonprofit organization offering therapeutic horseback riding to individuals with special needs. We have been instructing lessons for over 15 years. In February we are offering a course on instructing assisted lessons and is available to anyone with at least 2 years’ experience in teaching horseback riding. The course is taught by Jaimee Wagner, a PACTH certified Level 1 therapy instructor with over 10 years’ experience. The course is February 18 and 19 from 9-2pm, the cost is $75.00.
