Meet Our Instructors

  • Jaimee

Jaimee is one of our most experienced instructors, formally our Senior Instructor, having ridden for the past 35 years and has been an instructor for 23 years. During the day, she is the Director of Incident Management for Supportive Concepts for Families. Her all-time favorite horse is Quest, and she loves Elmer and Mac, but her clear current favorite is Killian.

Jaimee can lasso a runaway mini horse from a moving golf cart, fosters piglets for the ARL (and currently has one named Cookie!), and has no less than three shoes stuck somewhere deep in the mud in the paddocks from years ago.

  • Allison

Allison is another very experienced instructor, having ridden for the past 30 years and has been an instructor for 17 years. During the day, she works cleaning new construction. She doesn’t have a favorite horse at the moment, and loves all of our horses equally.

When she’s not working or instructing at Shady Hollow, she loves to ride motorcycles. She is also a professional photographer, and runs her photography business at AllisonStrubilla.com. When she finally sits down from her many jobs and hobbies, her favorite thing to have for dinner is sushi.

  • Libby

Libby is another seasoned instructor here at Shady Hollow. She has been riding for 22 years and instructing for 12 years. During the day, she is a Renewals Manager at Productboard. She loves all of the horses here at SHAR, but you’ll most often catch her riding Ringo and Smokey.

When she’s not working, she is busy spending time with her husband, her son James, and their 2 dogs Boomer and Bailey. She has recently gotten into gardening, and she has ridden a horse in every country she has visited!

  • Ally

Ally is a huge part of Shady Hollow, as not only an assisted riding instructor but also our Barn Manager. She has been riding for about 6 years, and has been an instructor for 4 years. During the day, she is a dedicated Special Education teacher. Her favorite horse is “Rikki but also Smokey but also Marshall but also Oakley, but actually Rikki”. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting Ally, you likely know that that is the most accurate way to describe her favorite horse.

Ally has 3 cats that she shares her home with. She absolutely loves snowy winters, and her favorite food is green beans. Her favorite holiday is the 4th of July, which also happens to be Rikki’s birth month!

  • Amy

Amy has been riding off and on for 15 years, and has been an instructor for 4 years. During the day, she is a Leasing Manager for Sola Salons. Her favorite horse is Marshall. With a horse belly like that, who could blame her??

After she graduated college, she moved to Oahu, Hawaii to teach fourth grade! She also used to teach Special Education for Reading School District. Amy will be getting married on the day after Thanksgiving this year (2023)!!

  • Val

Val is one of our Junior Instructors here at Shady Hollow, and she does most of our Beginner Packages for new riders! She has been riding horses for 12 years, and instructing for 3 years. When she’s not at Shady Hollow, she is a full-time college student. She also works as a bank teller. Her favorite SHAR horse is Luke.

Val loves creative writing and painting, and goes to Vermont every year for vacation.

  • Katie

Katie has been riding horses for 23 years, and instructing for 18 years! For her full-time job, she is the Postmaster in Elverson, PA. At home, she has 2 horses, 2 dogs, and a cat along with her daughter, Mia. Additionally, Mia is a rider here at Shady Hollow and does karate and plays soccer. Katie majored in therapeutic horsemanship at St Andrews Presbyterian College, and she coaches soccer for Wilson Club. Her favorite horse here at Shady Hollow is Oakley.

  • Quinn

Quinn is technically a new addition here at Shady Hollow as a Junior Instructor, but she has been here in one way or another for her entire life. She has been riding horses for 15 years, and just started as a junior instructor.

When she’s not at Shady Hollow, she is a high school student at Muhlenberg High School. Quinn’s favorite horse at SHAR is Elmer. She competed in her first horse show at just 18 months old! She loves reading, and plans to be an aerospace engineer in the future.
