POSITION SUMMARY

Shady Hollow Assisted Riding (SHAR) in Birdsboro is looking for a year round part time horseback riding trainer/instructor. SHAR is a nonprofit organization offering both Able Body Riding Lessons and Assisted Riding Lessons to individuals with physical, emotional and social needs. Experience in instruction of English disciplines is preferred and experience instructing students with special needs is a plus. Candidates without experience teaching riders with special needs should still apply.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Instructing Small group beginner and intermediate level students

• Private one on one instruction for students with special needs

• Care and Maintenance of horse herd - may include assisting with feeding and other barn duties

• Attend quarterly staff meetings (virtual)

• Participate in SHAR events such as fundraisers and community outreach

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Minimum 1 year teaching experience

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, OR KNOWLEDGE

• PA State criminal and child abuse background checks

• FBI Fingerprint Clearance

• Hold Certificate in Horseback Riding or Horsemanship from credited association
